UZ Wolves of Zimbabwe and UP Maputo of Mozambique crowned Zone 6 Men and women Volleyball Club Champions in the competition hosted in Lilongwe, Malawi over the last week.
UZ Wolves of Zimbabwe beat their compatriots Harare City in a thrilling final that ended 3-2 (25-19, 24-26, 19-25, 25-19, 15-13) to capture the gold medal and 500 USD as a prize money, while the silver medallists received 300 USD.
Indeni of Zambia prevented an All Zimbabwean podium as they beat Support United 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-20) in the bronze medal match to receive 200 USD.
In the women’s final UP Maputo of Mozambique overcame TUT of South Africa 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 26-24) to capture the gold medal, leaving the bronze medals for UZ Wolves of Zimbabwe who defeated their rivals Harare City 3-2 (16-25, 25-21, 25-16, 21-25, 15-10) in the third place match.
