SWSFF Pre-Season Kicks-Off Today

As 3SC, Sunshine FC, MFM FC And Remo Stars FC Battle For Supremacy.

In an effort to foster unity and help prepare South West States clubs playing in the Nigeria Professional Football League, (NPFL) in doing well in the 2016/2017 football season. The South West States Football Forum has concluded plans for the maiden South West States Football Forum Pre-Season Football Tournament.The tournament will Kick-off today (Tuesday) with Onikan Waterfront Stadium hosting the first round of matches.

This Pre-Season Football Tournament will see all the SouthWest clubs in the NPFL, namely, MFM International FC, Lagos Remo Stars FC Sagamu, Sunshine Stars FC Akure, and 3SC FC, Ibadan taking part in the 3-day Pre-Season football tournament. Apart from the clubs playing in the tournament, there will also be a 1-day Seminar for all the stakeholders including the players, coaches, referees, administrators and supporters, with Hon. Dr Bolaji Ojo-oba, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi and Calestus Chukwujekwu, as Resource Persons.

The seminar shall largely be focussed on excellent understanding and interpretation of the Laws of the Game and advocacy on genuine and non-violent football followership and supporter-ship. Each of all the participating Clubs are expected to be represented by accredited; Club Officials Two (2), Players Two (2), Chairman and Secretary of Supporters Club.

Co-ordinator of the zone, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi said the forum is determined to develop football across the zone and also foster unity amongst the clubs in the zone with the fans seeing the game of football as non-violent. He revealed that the seminar will hold today (Tuesday) at the Campos Mini Stadium, Indoor hall Starting from 9:00AM to 1:00PM, While the first match of the first day of the Pre-Season Football Tournament between MFM FC and Remo Stars kicks-off at 2:00PM, while Shooting Stars FC will take on Sunshine Stars FC in the second match of the day starting from 4:00PM all matches for day 1 will hold at Onikan Waterfront Stadium. However the matches for day 2 and final day will hold at the Agege Stadium, which is on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
