Snooker Ranking: Euro Star Trump Up To Third

Judd Trump has climbed to third place in snooker’s world rankings after his victory at the European Masters.

The Juddernaut beat Ronnie O’Sullivan 9-8 in a sensational final in Bucharest on Sunday night to land the 75,000 Euro top prize, which gives him a rise of one place in the official rankings.

O’Sullivan was denied a 29th ranking title but still moves up one spot on the official list to ninth.

Mark Selby reached the semi-finals in Romania and retains his stronghold on the world number one position, which he has held for 20 consecutive months.

The players in the top 16 remain the same. There are four ranking events to go until the vital cut off point for The Dafabet Masters, with only the top 16 seeds to earn a place at Alexandra Palace. For the latest on that race click here. One year list

Trump leaps 14 places to fourth on the separate one-year list, which determines who will qualify for the World Grand Prix and Players Championship. The top 32 will make it to the World Grand Prix in Preston in February, then the top 16 will earn spots at the Players Championship in Llandudno in March. So every pound earned in ranking events over the coming months is vital.

O’Sullivan was previously 55th on the one-year list but now jumps to tenth.

As its stands there are eight players inside the top 32 of the one-year list who are outside the top 32 of the two-year list. And five players inside the top 16 of the one-year list who are outside the top 16 of the two-year list.
