Week Seven of World Series of Boxing Season VIII begins in the Palazzetto dello Sport in Milan on Friday, when hosts the Italia Thunder take on the British Lionhearts for the second time this season. The previous matchup between the two teams in week five saw the Lionhearts winning 5-0 in Liverpool, leaving the Thunders’ hopes unfulfilled. But the Italian team has proven over the years that it isn’t over until the final bell rings, as they will be looking for a revenge win in front of their home crowd.

France Fighting Roosters face the newcomer WSB Team Croatian Knights in the city of Paris on Saturday night for the second time of the Season. The strong French team have already beaten the Knights 4-1 in Zadar in week five, another win this week could secure them a guaranteed top 5 spot and an automatic birth into the Play-Offs. The Croatian team on the other hand will field a determined young line up in their quest to win as many bouts as possible and potentially what could be their first win of Season VIII.

World Series of Boxing unveils STING as Official Technical Supplier for World Series of Boxing Season VIII

With the new season starting in three weeks, WSB’s Official Equipment Supplier STING has revealed the official glove design for the upcoming eighth edition of World Series of Boxing.

“We are happy to extend our partnership with STING for Season VIII. The quality of their products, as well as this new design will enhance WSB’s image and will contribute to making Season VIII yet another ground-breaking WSB edition”, said AIBA Interim President Franco Falcinelli.

Emblazoned with the WSB and STING logos, the exclusive design will have two versions, gold, for the home matches, and black, for away. The complete partnership deal includes the provision of all fight equipment used by competitors across the entire season.

“STING is delighted to be partnering again with WSB. We are proud to be part of the only team boxing competition in the world and we hope the boxers and the fans will enjoy our new gloves design”, said STING Managing Director Amir Anis.

STING has designed the 2018 glove with a visually striking colour application to represent the uniqueness of World Series of Boxing. STING has developed the upcoming glove with an advanced Quad Core system for even weight distribution and is equipped with STING’s Neo Gel technology to dissipate strike energy for both the striker and their adversary.

After the successful partnership in Season VII, WSB is delighted to keep working with STING who are leaders in high performance sports equipment. STING was the official Rio 2016 Olympic Games boxing supplier and will also supply the equipment for the upcoming 2018 Commonwealth Games on Australia’s Gold Coast in April.
