MFM FC Will Finish In The Top Ten of the NPFL – Ilechukwu

Head coach of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos, Fidelis Ilechukwu has assured fans and supporters of his team that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will achieve the top ten target at the end of the season, mountaintopfc.com can report.

MFM FC began it’s journey in the NPFL this season after gaining promotion in an emphatic fashion from the Nigeria National League (NNL). They stormed the top-league with an attractive brand of Football cum decent results that saw them claim the 10th spot with 27 points in the first stanza.

The second round of the NPFL has seen the Lagos-based team claim one win in four matches thus, they dropped from 10th to 12th place on the table after they lost their last league match on Sunday away to Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure in match day 24 clash decided at the Akure Township Stadium.

While addressing his players this morning before their departure from Akure, the young tactician told them to brace up in these though times and to put the loss against Sunshine Stars behind them and focus on the weekend match against Ikorodu United Football Club of Lagos.

He began “We need to stay strong and encourage ourselves because tough times will always come but I believe we will get over it very soon.

” Your reaction on the field of play on Sunday was not bad but it can get a lot better. We need to find our first stanza rhythm by scoring goals in our subsequent matches and I believe you guy can do it.

“Winning one match out of four is quite disturbing, our fans and supporters are not happy and I understand that you all are not happy with the situation as well but we need to do the needful in our next match against Ikorodu United FC to give our staunch followers reasons to continue to support us” he concluded.

MFM FC Host 3SC In NPFL Match Day 23 Cracker

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos will be up against Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan in match day 23 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tie which will be decided at the Agege Township Stadium this weekend.

Nigerian football League lovers in Lagos State will have another moment of sumptuous football experience to savour when the two teams meet on Sunday in a thrilling encounter tagged ‘the South West Derby.

Both teams have met on three occasions prior to this meeting. The first engagement was in the 2013/14 Nigeria National League (NNL) season. MFM FC beat the visitors 2-1 in the first leg at the Agege stadium while The Oluyole Warriors muscled out a 2-0 win in the return fixture in Ibadan.

This meeting between MFM FC and 3SC will be the fourth in a competitive competition and the second in the NPFL.

The away team won the first meeting of this same fixture in match day 3 of the ongoing top-flight season with a 3-0 victory.

Coach Fidelis Ilechuckwu’s side resumed training on Saturday after a week of active Football away from home as they hope to amass the maximum points at stake in this duel.

Having scored three goals and conceded four in their last two league matches, the Olukoya Boys will be approaching this tie with an attacking mind set.

The Lagos-based team has an edge over the struggling Ibadan-based team putting into perspective their fine run of form in the NPFL. They are currently in 8th place in the league table with 30 points from 21 league matches.
Coach Gbenga Ogunbote and his wards occupy the 18th position in the 20-team league table with 23 points from 21 matches. They have conceded 34 goals and managed to score 22.

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos will go head to head with Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia in one of today’s stand out fixtures in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The NPFL debutant proved their doubters wrong in the first stanza of the league with brilliant performances and entertaining Football that earned them the 9th spot on the log with 27 points from 18 league matches.

MFM FC won the reverse fixture 2-1 at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi on February 21, courtesy of goals from Newman Musa and Onuwa Chukwuka while Ifeanyi Nweke scored the hosts only goal of the match.

This encounter is going to be a difficult one for both sides but interestingly, the visitors who have not won a game in their last ten away matches will be looking for a way to take their pound of flesh while the host will be looking for a way to keep intact their home record with a convincing win.

MFM FC will host the Solid Miners in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matchday 21 clash at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

The first leg saw the Lagos-based team claiming their first away victory in the top-flight with a 2-1 triumph but the young tactician believes his men are capable of completing the double over Nasarawa United FC when both teams meet on Wednesday.

“We are set for the game against Nasarawa United FC, we know it’s not going to be an easy one but my boys are strong enough to finish the good work they have started”.

MFM FC Set For Busy Week Of Football

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos will begin the second stanza of the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with two crucial games and the Federation Cup round 32 encounter, it all begins next week Wednesday.

The Olukoya Boys will be busy for the next one week as they set to continue their sojourn in the Nigerian top-flight.

MFM FC will host Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia in match day 20 tie coming up on Wednesday at the Agege Township Stadium. NPFL MATCH DAY 18: FC Ifeanyi Ubah 0-0 MFM FC

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos claimed another vital away point against Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club of Nnewi on Thursday in match day 18 tie of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played at the Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium.

MFM FC goalkeeper, Abayomi Folarin put up a man of the match performance in the thrilling encounter. His breathtaking saves gave the Olukoya Boys their 6th away point of the season.

Ifeanyi Ubah FC got the game underway with the first kick of the ball. Nwosu Oluchukwu took the first shot of the match in the 5th minute of the game but his effort went wide.

The host tried another long range shot two minutes after their first shot on goal but MFM FC goalkeeper, Folarin pulled a finger tip save to deny the homers what could have been an early lead.

The Anambra Warriors dominated the first 45 minutes of the encounter with Alberico Da Silva and Nico Dao troubling the Olukoya Boys’ defence while Folarin ceaselessly prevented Ifeanyi Ubah FC from getting an opener.

Jimoh Oni of Ifeanyi Ubah FC came close to registering the first goal in the 49th minute of the tie when he flicked the ball straight into MFM FC goalkeepers hands.

Mohammed Suleiman forced Folarin to make another big save following a thumping header in the 55th minute of the game. Oluchukwu tested him with a great shot 6 minutes after Suleiman’s effort but he pulled yet another big save.

The game ended goalless as both teams shared the spoils.

MFM FC still maintain the 8th position on the log with 27 points from a possible 54 while Ifeanyi Ubah FC sits in the 9th.

MFM’s Monsuru declares war on Niger Tornadoes

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos utility player, Bashiru Monsuru has stated that the game against Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna is a must win in other to make progress in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash.

The Olukoya Boys will host fellow NPFL newcomers in match day 17 of the top-flight which will take place at the Agege Township Stadium this weekend.

Niger Tornadoes FC are yet to pick a point in their last five away matches as they have only managed to score two goals. MFM FC on the other hand have not tasted home defeat this season and Bashiru believes his teammates will do everything possible to keep their record intact with the three points in their kitty after Sunday’s encounter.

“We must win the match and I feel it’s going to be an easy one for us because Niger Tornadoes are not that fantastic on the road this season. We don’t like the fact that we drew our last match, by the special grace of God we will defeat them.

MFM FC To Hold First Training Session On Friday

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos will hold it’s first training session this Friday, 13th of May, 2016 at the Agege Township Stadium as they prepare for Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) tie against Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna.

The Olukoya Boys were held to a goalless draw in their last league match when they traded tackles with NPFL defending champions, Enyimba international Football Club of Aba on Wednesday at the Agege Stadium.

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and his wards will begin the training session from 12 noon to 2pm at the Agege Township Stadium in readiness for the must-win home match coming up this weekend.

MFM FC Shift Focus To Enyimba Match

Smarting from defeat at the hands of Lobi Stars Football club of Makurdi over the weekend, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos has shifted focus to the next league match coming up this midweek in Lagos against reigning Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Enyimba international Football Club of Aba.

MFM FC will begin preparation for match day 16 fixture on Tuesday afternoon at the Agege Township Stadium as they hope to bounce back from the 1-0 away defeat in Makurdi.

The training session will see the first team and few players from the reserve train together from 3pm to 5pm at the Agege Stadium.

NPFL Match Day 15: Lobi Stars Pip MFM FC 1-0 In Makurdi

Lobi Stars Football of Makurdi stopped Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos from picking points on the road on Sunday after a 1-0 win in match day 15 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) played at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, Benue State.‎

Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men began the encounter with the first kick of the ball, Lobi Stars FC got the first shot on target but goalkeeper James Aiyeyemi denied the homer’s an early goal with a fine save.

The host piled pressure on the visitors but their defenders were resolute with their defensive play.

Former Under 23 captain, Erhun Obanor, Elom Kenneth, Opara Austin and Monsuru Bashiru kept Lobi Stars attackers silent in the first half of the match.

Coach Ilechukwu was forced to make the first change of the game in added minutes of the first half when tireless defensive midfielder, Paul Atu Irumekhai was injured. He was replaced by Alashe Sheriff.

The first half ended goalless as the two teams made their way into the dressing room.

Lobi Stars FC came out strong in the second half, they mounted pressure on the visitors defence for 8 minutes in the second half but the resilient MFM FC players gave good account of themselves as they absolved the pressure from Godwin Uwua’s men.

The host came close to registering a goal in the 58th minute but Antony Okpotu’s shot hit the woodwork.

MFM FC attackers, Newman Musa, Sikiru Olatunbosun and teenage striker, Stephen Odey unsettled the Lobi Stars defence with Ifeanyi Ifeanyi and team captain, Kenedinum Chuks controlling the midfield.

The homers who could not penetrate MFM Fc’s defence were lucky to claim the three maximum points in the 69th of the game after defender, Monsuru Bashiru flicked the ball into his goal post as goalkeeper, Aiyeyemi made a touch-line save but the referee adjudged it a goal.

The Makurdi-based fans were thrilled with beautiful display of football from the Lagos-based team as they lauded coach Ilechukwu and his wards despite the 1-0 defeat.

The Olukoya Boys still maintain their 8th position on the log with 22 points from 15 NPFL matches.
