All Set For Launch of PASC Academy

Football in Ekiti state, South West Nigeria is expected to receive a major boost as the management of Nationwide league side Phoenix Athletic Sports Club has concluded plans to officially launch its football academy, later this month.

In a release made available to the press, the academy, which is for players aged 12-16 years, is expected to give life to the comatose state of football in Ekiti.

The players are to be trained by a coterie of certified coaches led by Daniel Ogunmodede and Bola Idris. And in four different ‘centres of excellence’, namely; Ado, Ikere, Ido and Igede- Ekiti.

Speaking on the development, Bayo Olanlege, General Manager of the team, enthused confidently that the academy slated for launch at the end of April, would help revive the fortunes of football in the state.
” PASC academy will bring about a football revolution in Ekiti state. We have a collection of top quality coaches to train these young lads.

“For a token of N1000, the lads will have the opportunity to grow and achieve their dreams as footballers. And importantly, too, we have decided to have a sweet mix of education and football at the academy,” he added.

According to the youthful but experienced football administrator, the lads are expected to compete for honours amongst themselves in the PASC youth league during the third term break of the academic year.
