Nigeria Sports Federations Need Take Off Grant – Judo Boss

President of the Nigeria Judo Federation, NJF, Prince Timothy Nsirim says the newly inaugurated sporting federations need financial assistance as take off grant from the sports ministry to make their job a lot more easier as they assume office.

Nsirim made this known in a chat with the NJF media unit shortly after his inauguration by the Minister of Sports, Hon Solomon Dalung that the grant has become imperative because most prospective partners are done with their budgets for sponsorship in the year 2017.

He stressed that most of his colleagues who are new in the system, will find it difficult to kick start their programmes, hence the need for the Sports Minister to support them with grants while he monitors the implementation of the grants for the purpose it was approved.

“I want to appeal to the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung to give us take off grants so as to enable us kick start our programme”. Nsirim said

“Am not only speaking for my self but also for other Federation Presidents, most especially the first timers, because this is not the best time to woo the private sector as majority of them are done with their budget for the year.”

“I don’t expect the Minister to give us the grant and go to sleep but to set up a committee to monitor how the grant is spent to ensure accountability,” He said
