Rugby Africa Gold Cup is a gathering of the 6 best teams in Africa. They will meet from June 24th to August 5th on home or away matches basis. The Six teams are Namibia, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Uganda, Kenya and Senegal
Thanks to Rugby Africa’s new partners, Kwese Sports, the matches of the Gold Cup will be broadcasted on free-to-air television. The channels Kwese Sports is available on is growing in number across many Sub-Saharan countries, and in places were it is not available the games will be accessible via the Kwese mobile app everywhere in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The six Gold Cup teams will try to avoid relegation to the Silver Cup also signalling the end of their 2019 World Cup dream. Next year the Rugby Africa Gold Cup Tournament will represent the final Rugby World Cup Qualifier round. The winning team of the 2017 Silver Cup will be promoted to Gold Cup and vice versa. The team relegated in Silver Cup will have no chance to participate to the RWC (Rugby World Cup) in Japan.
