Freestyle Football Takes Centre Stage At Finals Of Neymar Jr Fives In Lagos

On the Menu again was Freestyle Football at the National Grand Finale of the biggest 5-Aside event in Nigeria The Neymar Jrs Five that went down in Lagos over the last weekend 20th May, 2017 at the Get Arena, Victoria Island.

All in the effort to ensure Freestyle Football becomes a mainstay in our sporting and entertainment circles in Nigeria the frontrunner of Freestyle Football in Nigeria, Suara Abass the initiator of Street BallBenders ensured Freestyle Football became the most interesting side attraction of the National Finals that saw football teams from different Geo Political zones of Nigeria converge to contest for the ultimates prize, which is the ticket to represent Nigeria in Brazil at the Neymar Jrs Five international.

The Freestyle Football segment took place just before the Semi Finals as Freestylers from Lagos, Abuja and Warri all went head-to-head to see who again would become the Champion in an abridged version of Street BallBenders.

Just as the 2015 edition went, Obanor McCarthy from Abuja yet again beat off the strong showing put up by the Medical Doctor cum Freestyler from Lagos Mayowa Bababunmi in the final battle after both guys had defeated Larry Etuduvwum in the preliminaries to set up that always recurring final.

As much as the freestyle athletes are busy trying to outsmart each other with all the tricks and flicks, the watching audience were left gobsmacked, flabbergasted and indeed dazzled to their bone marrows with the extreme skills on display with loads of applauds at regular intervals.

Indeed, it was another groundbreaking experience for Freestyle Football in Nigeria.
