Sierra Leone and Gambia Crowned Zone 2 Men and Women Beach Champions

Sierra Leone men, Gambia women Beach Volleyball teams topped zone 2 Beach Volleyball qualifiers for the CAVB African Nations Cup held in Gambia.

Sierra Leon men’s team beat Guinea Bissau 2-0 (21-8, 21-12) and hosts Gambia 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) to claim the gold medal ahead of Gambia who won the silver medal after hammering Guinea Bissau 2-0 (21-6, 21-10). Guinea Bissau came third after they lost both matches.

In the Women’s side Hosts Gambia claimed the gold medals after they cruised past Guinea Bissau 2-0 (21-6, 21-6) and Sierra Leone 2-0 (21-14, 21-15) to top the competition ahead of Sierra Leone who came second as they have a lone victory over Guinea Bissau 2-0 (21-9, 21-2). Guinea Bissau came third after losing both matches.

The three participating teams already booked their tickets to the finals of the African Cup to be organised in Mozambique Match 5 to 10, 2017 which act also as a qualifier to the FIVB World Beach Volleyball Championship.
