FINA/NVC Diving World Series 2017: MORE ACTION TO COME IN KAZAN

The host city of the 16th FINA World Championships 2015 in Kazan (RUS) welcomes this weekend the third meet of the FINA/NVC Diving World Series 2017 as part of its legacy from FINA’s signature event, which was held almost two years ago now.

Kazan is staging the competition from March 31 to April 2 for the third consecutive year now and has proven a strong and professional partner of FINA.

68 divers from Australia, Canada, China, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Russia and Ukraine are set to take the plunge in the three-day competition, across the ten events (individual, synchronised and mixed) on the programme.

With two meets already completed in Beijing and Guangzhou, China is leading the men’s ranking board while the nation is also atop in the women’s field.

Xie Siyi has the most points in the 3m springboard event, while last year overall winner Jack Laugher of Great Britain is second.

Olympic champion Chen Aisen naturally leads the 10m platform, followed by Yang Hao and Thomas Daley (GBR).

As for the women, Olympic gold medallist Shi Tingmao is unsurprisingly the best in the 3m springboard while her teammate Si Yajie tops the 10m.

All of the divers mentioned above will be taking part in the Kazan rendezvous this weekend.

After the Russian leg, the FINA/NVC Diving World Series will conclude in Windsor, Canada, on April 21-23.
