The grand finale of the 2017 Ekofootball Women Championship tagged ‘Lagos for Her’ comes up today at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos. As Young Talent 99 Queens fc will slug it out against Jagunmolu Queens fc, for the coveted trophy.

To qualify for the final, Young Talent 99 Queens whipped Victory Queens 3-0 in the first semi final, while in the second semi final, Jagunmolu Queens defeated Royaltoms Queens 3-1, to set up a cracking and exciting final game.

However, before the final match, Royaltoms Queens will tackle Victory Queens in the losers final.

Speaking ahead of the matches, Dotun Coker, Technical Director of Lagos FA, expressed his satisfaction with the standard of play and high level of discipline exhibited by all the participating teams in the championship. Stating that the championship would only help to spur the State FA to do more in terms of developing female football.

On his part, Wale Joseph, the Chairman of the Organising Committee for the championship enthused that the championship has thrown up some younger and fresher female footballers that would go on to represent the state and the country, in the nearest future.

“I can confidently tell you that the parts of the objectives of Lagos FA, which, ostensibly, to develop female football and help discover fresh talents for the game in the state and by extension, the country, have been achieved, ” he declared.

He however, went on to admonish well placed individuals and corporate organisations to join the fray and support the efforts of the state FA in the development of grassroots football.
