Neymar Jr’s Five is a Unique Form of 5-a-side football being promoted by Brazilian and FC Barcelona Top star Neymar Jr and powered by top global energy drink RedBull.
Neymar Jr’s Five provides a unique challenge to players the world over, as every time one team scores, the opposition loses a player. It’s inspired by the street football Neymar Jr himself grew up playing and the Barcelona and Brazil forward cannot wait to see a new season of this remarkable tournament kick off.
In 2016 Brazil’s Anjos da Bola emerged as the 2016 World Champions of Neymar Jr’s Five, and they were rewarded with a VIP trip to Barcelona, they got to spend time with Neymar Jr himself at the FC Barcelona training ground.
Speaking on this experience the Brazilian football star said: “Meeting the winners was incredible!”
“Now I can’t wait to see who makes it through to the 2017 World Final at my Instituto in Brazil.”
“I always played with my friends, using small goals.” he said. “The tournament reminds me of my childhood and I am very proud of it. To win the five-a-side games and outplay them all, you need strategy and a good understanding of what the best moment is to attack and defend. A good defence is very important as well and can bring your team very far in the tournament.”
Now a Nigeria Team might get a chance to meet with the Barcelona star, VIP style but first they must participate in the Nigerian Qualifiers. The Neymar Jr Five train will hit several football centres in Lagos and some other major cities across Nigeria.
From the 3rd of March at Utako Abuja to the 5th of May at the National Stadium Surulere thousands of Nigerian footballers from the age of 16-25 years will get a chance to form their own teams across 10 locations, with two days of group stage qualifications before a final knock-out round for the top scoring teams. Games are quick, fast paced, and each team will get to play at least twice in the group stages, and the most exciting part is that registration is free of charge via http://www.neymarjrfive.com.
Eventual winners of the Nigerian qualifiers for Neymar Jr Five 2017 will be flown out to play in the world final in July in Brazil, all-expense paid.
